Maya Blue Homewear
Mayan Blue is a unique shade of color, first created by our craftswomen's inventive ancestors.
Being so rare, this intense tone gained incredible relevance in Mayan mythology: connected to the rain deity Chaak, it symbolises the possibility for life to grow strong like the precious maíz during the benevolent rainy season.
But colors are also linked to the cardinal directions that constitute the boundaries of the human world: surprisingly, Mayan Blue was placed at the centre, thus embodying the origin of the cosmos.
Our wondrous weavers enjoyed playing with this very special shade to create a breath-taking mosaic of history and culture.
