Naturally Dyed Ceremonial Blouse - Kinich Ahau
Among the most important ceremonies of the ancient Mayans, there were the celebrations and ceremonial dances in honor of Kinich Ahau, the Lord of the sun.
Being bound to this central celestial body, he was revered as the primary engine of life...
But he was not alone in performing his heavy responsibility:
together with Chaac, the god of the Lluvia (rain), and Hunahpu, the god of Maíz (corn), they formed a mighty trio who allowed life, under the form of a bountiful harvest, to exist.
Our weavers retrieved the legend of Kinich Ahau, Chaac and Hunahpu from their memory and created these precious blouses to immortalise each member of the divine trio through the vibrant natural colors of Guatemala.
These refined blouses are also special for reproducing the style of the attire worn by our craftswomen's ancestors during their religious ceremonies. Given that they were used during exhausting dances, they are extremely comfy to wear and breathable.
