Upcycled Crossbody Bag - Xochiquetzal Huipil
Guatemala is a unique gem in the heart of Latin America: the breath-taking beauty of its nature has inspired countless tales and legends on the origin of the world and its inestimable treasures.
The ancient Mayans and Aztecs were so fascinated by their heavenly surroundings that a myriad of their gods and deities were thought to be the creators and guardians of such wonders. Among these, Xochiquetzal held a special place, being the gorgeous goddess of fertility, beauty, love... and flowers!
Indeed, flowers were considered a powerful symbol of love and prosperity, capable of connecting even the living with their loved ones residing in the afterworld.
Our weavers are committed to preserving these marvellous stories through unique crafts: these precious bags showcase the beauty and power of the Guatemalan flora in various shades and vivid hues of purple, blue, green and red.
We cherish the natural world from which our creativity is continuously inspired and want to protect it by reducing our impact up to the point that zero waste is produced. These bags embody our promise by being made 100% with upcycled parts of refined huipiles.
Check them out and let the regenerative power of Xochiquetzal embrace you!
