Upcycled Traditional Apron in 'Water'
This upcycled apron is made from traditional Guatemalan textiles, and features beautifully woven details on the pockets. It is created from a 'corte' skirt, originally made using jaspe-dyed fabric, woven on a traditional footloom - a highly skilled weaving technique for fine and intricate work. The pocket details come from pieces of painstakingly handwoven 'huipil' fabric - traditional blouses that are no longer usable.
The design comes from the Sacatepéquez region of Guatemala and made by the Mayan women of our Trama Textiles cooperative. These aprons will keep you both clean and stylish - perfect for a gift or as a personal treat!
