Zig-Zag Scarf Black and Neon
This naturally-dyed, lightweight, handwoven scarf is the perfect accessory to transition from spring to summer to fall. Handmade in Guatemala of a lightweight cotton blend, it can either be worn as a spring or summer scarf. This scarf has been made by women within the San Juan de la Laguna community.
The zig-zag pattern comes from the dying technique of Jaspe. The weavers begin by tying and dying individual threads to create a particular pattern. The threads are then perfectly realigned on the loom before weaving can begin. During the weaving, the jaspe design appears.
Handwoven in the traditional art of backstrap loom-weaving, this took 20 hours to make.
