The Almaya Fund
Established in 2019, the Almaya Fund is a project of Trama Textiles which aims to support local Indigenous communities by funding access to healthcare, education and artisan training.
Despite Trama Textiles' success in offering fair wages to its cooperative members, many individuals in these communities continue to face extreme poverty with limited access to education and healthcare services. The Almaya Fund seeks to bridge this gap by financing projects based on the specific needs identified within these communities. Through donations, the fund supports initiatives such as scholarships and school supplies for weavers' children, health services including mental health and nutrition, and training workshops to enhance weaving, design, literacy, and financial skills.
By contributing to the Almaya Fund, donors play a vital role in empowering these communities, providing opportunities for educational and professional development, and ensuring access to essential healthcare services.
